Loy, his first teacher, trains him in the use of the language of old and how to manipulate the powers. He teaches him what magic is and how it is used to maintain the delicate balance of the world around him.
When they discover that the gem stone, given to Taam, by his sister as a gift has a power all its own, then adventures beyond all their expectations begin. An oracle’s writing tells “…and in the dawn of the darkness there came a light. A powerful light lost unto Mundus Terra by the old sighted one. It shall be found by the young sighted one, tempered by the one strong in heart and wielded by the one strong in mind. The light shall fill the dark and vanquish it until a living light takes its place.”
Because of Sha’s gift of the stone to her brother, she receives a gift in turn from the ancient holly tree. Sha begins gaining abilities rivaling that of her brothers. Because of their unique abilities and the training received they journey through ancient forests, deserts and experience battles of man and beast. Taam finally meets the oracle who is the oldest person alive and will soon learn what he must do to bring balance back into the world.
